BHDA Attorneys to Speak at Annual TACCA Conference

BHDA attorneys Philip B. Arnold and Vanessa A. Gonzalez will present at the upcoming Texas Association of Community College Attorneys (TACCA) conference, which will be held virtually on January 21-22, 2021. The two-day conference, which is designed for community college administrators, attorneys, and board members, will cover issues including employment law, distance learning, the Public Information Act/Open Meetings Act, and more.

Philip Arnold will speak on the topic of eminent domain at 11:00 am on January 21. His presentation will address the basics of eminent domain with a segment on how to handle eminent domain proceedings brought against a college by the state or another entity like a city or county.

Vanessa Gonzalez’s presentation will address how the pandemic has affected employment law practices including the new FFCRA, the DOL guidance, and the EEOC Pandemic Guidelines. Her presentation is scheduled for 12:00 pm on January 21.
