BHDA Attorneys Speak at V.G. Young School for County Commissioners Courts

Firm partners Charles R. Kimbrough and Philip B. Arnold recently presented at the 63rd Annual School for County Commissioners Courts, a program of the V.G. Young Institute of County Government. The two-day conference, which featured educational sessions on county government topics, was designed for county judges and commissioners. It was held February 2-4, 2021 in Bryan.

Chuck Kimbrough’s presentation “Negotiating Technology Contracts” addressed key issues regarding the negotiation and procurement procedure of technology contracts for Texas counties.

Philip Arnold’s presentation “Purchasing Applications” covered the basics of the County Purchasing Act (Chapter 262 of the Local Government Code), the legal requirements for purchases over $50,000 and the exceptions to the rule.
