BHDA Announces New Managing Partner

BHDA is proud to announce Emily Rogers as its new managing partner. As a long-time partner, Emily has played an integral role in the firm’s decision making by serving multiple terms on firm committees, including the management committee. Outside the firm, Emily serves in a leadership capacity on the Texas Water Conservation Association’s Board of Directors and on several planning committees for water law CLE programs.

Emily is the firm’s sixth managing partner and second woman to serve in the position. Myra McDaniel was the firm’s first woman elected as managing partner in 1995, and the first African-American woman to head a large law firm in Texas.

“Emily and I have worked together in anticipation of this transition for several years, and I look forward to the firm’s future under her leadership,” said former managing partner Bill Dugat. Bill completed a final term as managing partner after serving in the position for seventeen years. He remains a member of the firm’s management committee, serves as the secretary of the State Bar of Texas Administrative and Public Law Council, and has an active water law practice.
