BHDA Attorney Organizes “Start-Up Superstars” Competition for Second Year
BHDA Attorney Vanessa Gonzalez developed the Start-Up Superstars competition in 2015 as part of her work as Education Committee Chair for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The competition involves high school seniors developing and pitching business or product ideas to a panel of judges. The competition focuses on AISD high schools in which the majority of students come from low-income households.
This year’s school winners received Chromebooks sponsored by Google, and the grand prize winner received an education scholarship donated by the GAHCC Foundation and other sponsors.
