Lori assists educational institutions and other public employers in navigating an extensive range of employee relations issues. Prior to joining BHDA, Lori served as in-house legal counsel and later as Director of Employee Relations at Austin Independent School District; Staff Attorney at the Association of Texas Professional Educators; and a staff assistant and legislative correspondent to U.S. Representative Solomon P. Ortiz. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law. Lori’s background in school and employment law extends to Title VII and Title IX claims, grievances, FMLA, the ADA process, student discipline and safety, student and employee rights, special education compliance, and all aspects of general counseling.
