Attorney Emily Rogers Honored with TWCA President’s Award

The Texas Water Conservation Association honored Emily Rogers with their President’s Award today during the association’s 72nd annual conference. TWCA Board President Phil Kelley presented Emily with the award in recognition of her efforts on behalf of TWCA, which includes (among others) acting as Chair of the Water Laws Committee. Emily’s TWCA involvement also includes subcommittee efforts to draft new consensus-based legislation regarding Texas surface water law.

In addition to her committee leadership, Emily is a frequent speaker at TWCA conferences. During the annual conference this week, Emily was featured on an attorney panel which discussed the legal issues resulting from the Brazos River Authority’s System Operations Permit water rights case.

Outside of her work with TWCA, Emily is the reporter of water law developments in Texas for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation’s newsletter; a contributing columnist for the Texas Environmental Law Journal; and a frequent speaker at water law and local government conferences across the state.
